PEEKSKILL -- Several hundred boaters representing dozens of teams from across the area took to the river Saturday for the Peekskill Celebration's annual dragon boat races.
Teams raced in open competition, as well as charity races, over several heats to determine which teams would bring home trophies. The end of the competition featured a special race made up of cancer charity teams who ended their race with a tribute to those who have succumbed to the disease. Boaters raised roses of assorted colors, as did those watching along the shores, who then tossed the roses into the Hudson.
